Sourcing particular objects and interiors to stage set a scene, I construct paintings that question the ‘state of affairs’ in a household. I predominately reference objects that reside within the realm of female activity. Within this scene I aim to set an uncomfortable tension and dangerous scenario to focus on the possibility of a domestic undercurrent within the confines of a kitchen.

These works are focusing on familiar domestic interiors often sourced from different households during real estate ‘open house’ events. An incomplete pictorial narrative creates a sense of anxiety. This makes it impossible to know exactly what is going on or what has happened, the viewer can only conjecture.
